Fire Door Classifications
The world of fire door classification can seem daunting at first glance. This is due to the various combinations of numbers and letters found on fire door labels. Put simply the “FD” section relates to the products classification, in this instance it is a “Fire Door”. The number that immediately proceeds this, relates to that doors burn rate. In this example the FD “30” would withstand fire for “30 minutes”. The final part of the coding where an “S” is present classifies this particular door to be also able to withstand smoke ingress for “30 minutes”. Yes you guessed it an FD60s door is capable of withstanding fire and smoke for upto 60 minutes.
